Express Card

Who
  • Those who are assigned Low Value Purchase Delegation


What
  • Express Card is UCSD's version of a procurement/MasterCard.
  • Purchase goods and services currently acquired by processing low value purchase orders, based on published low value purchase policy and restrictions
When
  • Trial, March - June, 1996
  • Pilot, August - December, 1996
  • Campus-wide, January, 1997
How
  • Training and authorization from designated Departmental Business Officers
  • Access cardholder transaction data from IFIS Express Order Module, SQL-DSE Express Order data and via future WWW application
Why
  • Streamline the procurement of low value, high volume procurements
Where
  • Authorized cardholders will be able to purchase routine supplies from merchants who accept a MasterCard.
  • Purchases of office supplies, computer supplies and lab supplies should be routed to the campus Storehouse via ESOS in order to ensure the lowest price, highest quality and most efficient procurement process
