SUBJECT: Implementation of $1,500 Threshold for
Equipment
The initial campus notice on this topic was
distributed in April, 1998. This follow up notice is intended to provide
additional information for all people at UCSD who may be impacted by this
change.
Please consult the Equipment Management Implementation Plan for more information
and answers to frequently asked questions. In addition to e-mail links on this
page, please feel free to contact any one of the following subject area experts
for further information regarding the increase in the threshold level for
inventoried equipment from $500 to $1,500.

A final reminder that the fiscal year 1998/99 is a
transition year for equipment purchased on sponsored projects funding, and that
all proposals having performance periods after July 1, 1999, should be using
the new threshold level. Again, please consult the web site noted above and/or
the subject matter experts for further information so that we may achieve a
